The institute was legally approved by the Federal Ministry of Education - Nigeria (FMEN) in 2018 as a training institute. GIIET, was established to provide skill-based education and training for everyone, including those who may not have traditional academic credentials. GIIET, mission is to close the educational gap for individuals who may have dropped out or who seek to acquire new, marketable skills. It emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility, offering opportunities for personal and professional advancement regardless of prior schooling.

Global Institute of Innovative Education and Technology, was approved by the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Education and accredited by prestigious accreditation bodies within (locally) and international.
These Include Accreditation by CPRCN - Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria, is the sole regulatory body for IT education and practice in the Nigeria with a mandate to determining academic standards and accrediting institutions, courses, programs in computing and professional examinations in computing, also Accredited by the American Council of Training and Development – ACTD – USA, a body with rigorous, high-impact international quality standards accreditation and a recent accreditation by Skill Development Council - CANADA these body provides accreditation to educational institutions and specific programs after a rigorous review process, which serves as a "stamp of approval" to assure the quality of education and training provided, the council also assess, accredit, and certify students and training programs to international standards, thereby ensuring the global acceptance and validation of Vocational skills and competencies.
